Democracy House Organization (DHO) is an independent organization that has no partisan affiliation inside or outside Iraq and is a non-profit organization that cooperates with all civil society organizations inside and outside Iraq for the purpose of achieving its goals

MISSION
In line with its vision and values; DHO works to promote democratic principles, enhance human rights in general and for vulnerable groups in particular, Ending discrimination and violence against women in Iraq where gender equality, social justice and inclusive democracy are valued ,full participation of women in conflict resolution, and peace building and consolidate good governance regime in adherence to transparency and integrity.
DHO STRIVES TO FULFILL ITS MISSION BY ENHANCING THE FOLLOWING CORE VALUES IN ITS WORK
– Work for adherence of human rights especially for vulnerable groups
– Work on the basis of tolerance, mutual respect and for social peace
– Work for accountability enhancing a culture of transparency and social responsibility
Promote the implementation of the women, peace and security agenda. This work is guided by Security Council Resolutions 1325, 1820, 1888, 1889, 1960, 2106, 2122, and 2242, as well as the National Action Plan for Women and Peace.

Our strategy for change
Promote democracy and good governance initiatives by holding workshops and advocacy, coordination, and providing training related to strengthening public skills in effective citizenship, electoral reform, political participation in public and private areas, and the rule of law in addition to enhancing engagement with the government
Prioritize the needs of groups in need, especially refugees, migrants and women, who are vulnerable to discrimination, exploitation and abuse of their rights in times of conflict and transitional periods. Our efforts focus on protecting these groups, enhancing their resilience and enabling them to participate effectively in realizing their inherent rights
